GSoC 2024 Project Idea 10.1 Using markerless motion capture to drive music generation and develop neuroscientific/psychological theories of music creativity and music-movement-dance interactions (350 h)

Hey @suresh.krishna, I found this project quiet interesting and would like to work on it for gsoc '26! Although it is listed in the doc, it does not seem to be active. Is it still offered this year? Thanks!

The project is active and may be offered, but only for candidates with well-matched skill sets. We are specifically looking for proposals from:

a) those with prior experience interested in working with sign-language recognition
b) from those with artistic ability/ideas and experience in Max/SuperCollider/PureData etc. to create gesture-driven music generation pipelines.

Hello @suresh.krishna

I’m Samuel Kalu, a Computer Science senior year student.

During GSoC 2025, I built a communication analysis tool for the Human AI Foundation to quantify human behavior in driving simulators. Having already successfully navigated a GSoC cycle in the behavioral data space, I have a clear understanding of the technical rigor required here.

I’m interested in applying my expertise in behavioral modeling to this project and look forward to contributing high-quality engineering to the team.
