GSOC 2026 Project #21 : I-EEG: health application for semi-automated iEEG analysis and viewing in a clinical and research environment

Hi Maya, Suresh and Elie

My name is Geetanjali Kanwar, and I’m a 3rd-year B.Tech IT student at NIT Raipur. I’ve been following the project ideas for GSoC 2026 and I’m particularly interested in the I-EEG health application.

This project is a great fit for my research background. I recently published a paper in IEEE titled "Two Stage Method Combining Wavelet Decomposition and Deep Learning for EEG Seizure Detection” (Two Stage Method Combining Wavelet Decomposition and Deep Learning for EEG Seizure Detection | IEEE Conference Publication | IEEE Xplore).

My work focused on using Wavelet transforms for feature extraction followed by Deep Learning for classification skills that I believe are very relevant to the semi-automated algorithms you are planning to implement.

I’ve already forked the m2b3/ieeg repository to get a feel for the codebase and front-end structure. I’m currently drafting my detailed proposal and plan to submit it for your feedback within the next few days.

Best regards,

Geetanjali
