Dear All,
I would be grateful if could spread the word about 2 new PhD scholarships to do fun science at our Neuroscience of Addiction and Mental Health Program, Healthy Brain and Mind Research Centre (HBMRC) https://www.acu.edu.au/research/our-research-institutes/healthy-brain-and-mind-research-centre
PHD scholarship 1: Mapping neurodevelopmental trajectories in youth substance users
This is the first project that will identify which brain mechanisms predict vulnerability to youth substance use and related mental health problems using: a longitudinal design with big data (thousands of youth) and a sample stratified by risk of mental health problems and SES.
PHD scholarship 2: Mapping neurocognitive harms and recovery in substance dependence, using mindfulness and multimodal neuroimaging
There are novel fMRI studies, to mitigate brain dysfunction in people with substance use disorders using fMRI based neurofeedback to change brain function in real time, while using mindfulness based startegies.
FYI a description of the projects/application process can be found under the heading “Specialist research area 'Neuroscience of Addiction and Mental Health”) here: https://www.acu.edu.au/research/become-a-research-candidate/research-scholarships
If you are interested in this opportunity and are seeking further information pls email valentina.lorenzetti@acu.edu.au.
Cheers,
Arush
