Adapting package using Tedana 0.0.8 betas_OC to new pipeline using Tedana 23.0.2

Summary of what happened:

I am adapting a github package that uses an older version of Tedana - 0.0.8 to work with the newer version of Tedana 23.0.2. In Tedana 0.0.8 betas_OC is the ‘Full ICA coefficient feature set’ and the equivalent in the new naming conventions is desc-ICA_stat-z_components. I was wondering if there were any significant changes in how betas_OC is computed/created vs. desc-ICA_stat-z_components that could lead to them looking so different for the same subject?

Version:

0.0.8 → 23.0.2

Screenshots / relevant information:

Betas OC

desc-ICA_stat-z_components (same subject)

If you want to keep the original file managers you can use the --convention orig option. We have made changes to the code but probably the main reason you’re seeing different results is that ICA results can vary across executions. If you are using the same other settings, the number of components should be the same, but the content and order will vary.

Excuse the brevity. I’m in transit with just my phone, but wanted to give a quick response. If you have not questions, I can respond more later.
