Adaptive thresholding for cluster correction

For cluster extent-
Is there any newer or better implementation than:
https://github.com/chrisfilo/Adaptive-Thresholding ?

And for this implementation- should I prefer the python or the matlab implementation?

I have not worked on this for many years, but the python version is more thoroughly tested.
