Alternative metric of functional homogeneity for parcellation?

functional homogeneity (average temporal correlations of brain vertices / voxels within the same parcel, a global value can then be derived by averaging the values across all parcels) is a common evaluation metric of brain parcellation (based on fMRI). However this metric can be affected by the size distributions of brain parcels, and by the total number of parcels. e.g. with the same number of parcels, the one with mostly small parcels and a few large parcels tends to have a higher score than the one with evenly sized parcels (since small parcels tend to have higher homogeneities)

So I’m wondering if there are good alternatives of this functional homogeneity metric, or improved version of this metric?
