We are pleased to announce that a community review period will open from November 2- November 13, 2026, to consider 3 BIDS Extension Proposals:
1. BEP036 - Phenotypic Data Guidelines
2. BEP044 - Stimuli
3. BEP047 - Audio/video recordings for behavioral experiments
BEP044 and BEP047 share a new Media Files appendix, which defines the supported audio, image, and video formats and their technical metadata. Reviewers interested in either BEP may want to look at both.
How To Participant

Read the draft specification and example datasets linked from each review discussion.

Vote in the poll at the top of each discussion. You can vote only once and cannot change your response, so please vote once you are satisfied that your answer will not change.

Raise questions or proposed changes as threads in the relevant discussion, one thread per topic.

For minor issues such as typos, you can leave code suggestions directly on the BEP’s pull request.
