BIDS for Histology

I have found a few histology datasets in the wild, and I wanted to forward the relevant BIDS extension to the owners of said data, who want to make it Open… But upon reviewing the BIDS extensions, there doesn’t appear to be one specifically for histology. Does anyone have recommendations on how to proceed?

One of these datasets is a mess of .TIFF microscopy files, and the other is in this weird .ndpi multi-view format, with no metadata attached :…(

Thank you for bring this up! It seems we do not currently have a BIDS extension that covers histology. Would you be interested in proposing a way of handling histology data? Our contributor guide explains the basics of the process for doing this. I think this would be an exciting addition!
