Summary of what happened:
I wanted to map my DICOMs to bids using bidscoin - bidsmapper. The program is for some reason unable to detemine Phase Encoding Direction for diffusion images from our new Cima.X scanner (software XA61) - see screenshot below.
When I convert the images with dcm2niix, the JSON contains the PhaseEncodingDirection tag and the value seems to be correct (i for RL and i- for LR).
Did anyone encounter a similar issue?
The acquisition uses the Free Diffusion mode with custom diffusion gradient vectors, not sure if that may be relevant to the issue.
Also strangely dcm2niix (v1.0.20250505) complains the DICOMs should have been be exported as enhanced, when it fact they were.
