Hi all,
While they have the same protocol, how can I distinguish between them and choose the appropriate one?
thanks !
Hi all,

hi @Steven
I will work with two modalities, T1 and fMRI, to study functional connectivity.
While selecting modalities, I found many T1 images with different names: T1_mprage_S3_DIS3D, T1_mprage, T1_mprage_S7_DIS3D, and gre_field_mapping_RS…
As I understand from papers, I will work with T1_mprage, but I see other images also labeled as T1_mprage. I am asking about the differences between these images, even though the protocols are the same.
Hi @Oumayma,
Are these images that were already acquired and taken off a scanner, or are these sequences names on a scanner for a protocol you are designing?
Best,
Steven
Yes, these images were already taken from a scanner. The data is from the IDA NIFD
Hi @Oumayma,
Are there JSON files that contain more metadata that might be used to differentiate the files? Or any relevant documentation from the data set? Have you looked at these images in an image viewer?
Best,
Steven
Yes, I can obtain a metadata file when downloading my collection. I use a viewer, and what I get is T1mprage and T1mprage S3, which seem the same, while with changes to S7, S5, etc., I get different as u see
Hi @Oumayma,
I am not sure I see the difference on the images, besides the bottom picture coming from a different slice of the brain.
Does the metadata in JSONs show any differences?
Best,
Steven
hi steven
as i see no much information, so can’t find the difference
here is an example
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE ExtraInfo SYSTEM "">
<metadata version="1.0">
<subject id="1_S_0071"/>
<study uid="48705"/>
<series uid="S161460"/>
<image uid="I324709"/>
</metadata>
i’m going to chose T1 mp rage as most of the papers used it
thanks a lot !
