I just checked, and the password given on Sched works for me. So not sure what issue @todorovdi is experiencing, unfortunately.

Can I use pyspark on my local machine that is not a HPC (for learning purposes)? In terms of computation efficiency, does it ever make sense to use pyspark for parallelizing processes on my local machine?

Alice, yes, even on a local machine you can use it to use all your cores and run parallel tasks. It can actually use all your 8 cores and speed up processing. The installation is a bit of a hassle, though.
