EDR Viewer for Mac: view WinEDR EDR and pCLAMP ABF/ATF recordings

Hi everyone,

I develop EDR Viewer for Mac, an electrophysiology recording viewer for researchers who want to inspect existing recordings on an Apple Silicon Mac.

It opens WinEDR EDR, pCLAMP / Axon ABF and ATF, and regularly sampled numerical TXT, CSV and TSV files.

What is available

  • Free Viewer Mode: open recordings, inspect traces and make A/B region measurements, without activation.
  • Optional paid Full Access: processing, FFT/PSD, exports and Analysis (£7.99 one-time purchase for up to 2 Macs).

Requirements and limits

  • Apple Silicon (M1 or later), macOS 14 or later. The current release is 2.18, distributed as a DMG, and is not Apple notarized.
  • Multi-sweep ABF recordings are opened one selected sweep at a time. Text imports require regularly sampled numerical data; confirm columns, sampling rate and units.
  • This is an independent application, not an official Mac version of WinEDR, pCLAMP or Clampfit. It does not provide acquisition or instrument control, or promise complete Clampfit feature or numerical equivalence.

I would welcome feedback about file-import compatibility and the viewing workflow. If something fails, please include the format, app version and error message in a GitHub issue; please do not post private recordings or license keys publicly.

Would you consider including a tiny public test recording with a known amplitude and time interval, plus the expected A/B measurements? The guide asks users to check sampling rate and units; a worked file would let them check that import path before opening their own recordings. I haven’t run the app, so this is a documentation suggestion rather than a compatibility report.
