Hi @crossmanith and welcome to neurostars!

fMRIPrep should outputting a .bidsignore file to account for these files. If not, easy enough to make one yourself. Just a text file with

desc-aparcaseg_dseg.tsv
desc-aseg_dseg.tsv

The BIDS validator does not currently support BIDS derivatives. If you would like to help us test schema-based validation, where derivatives will be implemented, please check out bids-validator/bids-validator/src at master · bids-standard/bids-validator · GitHub. We’re always happy to have more contributors, but I would call this “alpha” software at best, at the moment.

Plus 530 more files not shown in the screen shot :slight_smile: Probably extending bids-validator is the more sustainable way to go…
