[Gene expression decoding in Neurovault] Differences in number of genes

Hi everyone!

I am using the Gene expression decoding in Neurovault.

I have a question about the differences in the number of genes: according to the website of Allen Human Brain Atlas, gene expression profiles for more than 62000 genes were analyzed, but the gene expression decoding function in the Neurovault only output the statistical results for 20787 genes.

I was wondering why there are only 1/3 of genes will be analyzed here?

Allen provides information from 60k probes not genes. There are multiple probes per gene. NeuroVault, like other analyses, aggregates multiple probes per each gene. Hence the discrepancy.
