My name is Swagat, and I am a BCA student from India. I am writing to express my interest in contributing to INCF for GSoC 2026.
Unlike many engineering applicants, my expertise is specifically in Data Analysis (Python, Pandas) and Interactive Visualization (Plotly, Streamlit). I am looking to contribute to projects that require data cleaning, standardization, or dashboard building rather than backend software development.
My Preparation:
I have started exploring the BIDS structure using the OpenNeuro dataset ds000246. I wrote a Python script to parse the scan metadata and check for data integrity.

I have two questions to help me prepare further:
- Is the ds000246 (MEG-BIDS) dataset a good representative sample for practicing pybids queries?
- Are there specific sub-organizations (like BrainLife or NiiVue) that typically have a higher demand for Python-based dashboarding projects?
Any guidance on where a Data Analyst can add the most value would be greatly appreciated!
