Hello Invisible Skunk Adders, Please Introduce Yourselves

Hey everyone,

This is the space that will be used for messages within our pod, to organize Zoom meetings for the tutorials, and for within-pod discussions. I’d encourage you to introduce yourself in 2-3 lines here, by replying to this message, that way we can start getting to know each other.

Our pod name is [pod-010-Invisible-skunk]. We are in time-slot [2B]. The 1st tutorial session in our pod will be from [13:30] to [15:30] and the 2nd session will be from [16:30] to [18:00]. The group work period will be from 10:30 - 12:30 and 19:30 - 21:30 in two parts.
You can use this link to see the timing of other events for our time-slot:

Oh, I forgot to introduce myself.

I’m Anindita!

I am a second-year Ph.D. student in IIT(BHU). I am very much interested in the question of how polypharmacy can be useful in treating mid-cognitive impairment. In my initial research of the Ph.D. project, I have obtained findings indirectly correlating whole body Amyloid transport and clearance profile of Ageing induced Neurodegeneration and Alzheimer’s disease, by utilizing patient-neuroimaging studies based computational neuroimaging tools.

In my spare time, I enjoy knitting and hand-crafting for home decor.

Cheers!

Hi!
I am a final year Master’s student at ISERC,Visva Bharati,Santiniketan majoring in Physics.I am currently also affiliated with the computational neuroscience laboratory at IIT Madras as a project student. It is during the project duration at IITM,that I developed deep interest in computational neuroscience. My project involved the analysis of oscillations in the STN-GPe subsystem of Basal Ganglia.
I also enjoy bullet journalling, stitching, and working with NGOs

Looking forward to learning at NMA!

Hello everyone!
I am Hardik, a third-year undergraduate at BITS Pilani. I’m pursuing dual majors in computer science and biological sciences.
I got first interested in neuroscience by taking a course in it. I am interested in machine learning aided analysis of biological systems. I am pretty new to the field of computational neuroscience, and NMA seems like the perfect opportunity to learn more about it.

For my hobbies, I like to sketch and make concept arts.

Looking forward to NMA!

@Anindita So for Tomorrow, just to confirm, we are meeting at 12:45 pm, right? By that time, we should’ve watched the intro video as well as the welcome video. If possible can you please fill in what we would be discussing in tomorrow’s tutorial so we can prepare accordingly.

You can go over the course material and for tomorrow it will be Day 1 Model types.

Yes, see you at 12:45 pm.:slightly_smiling_face:

Will do, Thank you !

Hi

Hi all,

this is Hung, from the observer track. Now study Systems Neuroscience in Berlin.

I was originally signed up for slot 2C so I’m now a bit confused about the time here.
is 12:45 pm mean 12:45 in UTC+3 right? And here should I find the link for joining the tutorial zoom call? Or if it’s for interactive student only.

Sorry for lots of questions here, I found it somehow confusing to find all the info for observer track

Thanks and excited to join the program!

Would you mind if I participate in the discussion here btw?

Thanks and hope everyone has a productive morning already

Hey Aastha!
I was just googling something and landed upon this website :arrow_right: BiasWatch which tracks the speaker composition of conferences, schools, journals in neuroscience, particularly with respect to gender representation.I found this really cool and thought you might be interested too!

@Reema_Gupta Anything Neuro is of interest to us as well !:slightly_smiling_face:

Yatin are you in the TA Q&A zoom room?

Thanks! I follow Bias Watch India quite closely on Twitter. NMA also kept a track of gender representation in panels.

Hello, my name is Veena Kamble. I am working on EEG and eye-tracking data sets for reading development in deaf population. It would be great to learn more about EEG data collection and strategies. Have a good day! One question is this the team I have assigned to learn with?!? How does it begin? I am on observer track.

Hey guys, I have been moved to a different slot. I was asked to join them for the project discussion ASAP and had to leave our discussion midway. Sorry for the inconvenience and abrupt change.

These are 6 collab notebooks that cover the elements of computer vision from start to finish. It’ll also give you a great overall idea on how to work with CNNs. @Reema_Gupta Hopefully this makes your break productive!
