How to Parcellate EEG with fMRI Atlas to Create Connectivity Matrix?

Hello, I’m interested in creating a connectivity matrix of EEG signals, similar to how fMRI signals are parcellated with an atlas. In fact, I have atlases of interest from fMRI studies and want to use them to perform parcellations on EEG data and retrieve a region-by-region connectivity matrix.

I was originally thinking of simply using the electrode-by-electrode schema for connectivity but in the future, I want to align this EEG-parcellation with fMRI data for data integration studies.

Thanks in advance

Ahoi hoi @deontaepharr,

thank you very much for your question.

I’m not a big EEG person, so please take with a grain of salt but I think in order to do this, you would have to compute some sort of inverse solution, “mapping” the EEG to volume/surface space and then apply the atlas(es). The mne connectivity package has great examples, I hope something fits your needs.

HTH, cheers, Peer
