Introduce yourself!

Hi everyone

My name is Kunal Patil, and I’m currently a 3rd-year Computer Science undergraduate student. Recently, the team I was leading got selected for the Smart India Hackathon, which was a great learning and leadership experience for me.

I have a strong interest in Android development and AI/ML, and I enjoy exploring new technologies by building and experimenting with real projects. At the moment, I’m especially interested in open-source contribution and looking forward to learning, collaborating, and contributing with the community here at INCF.

Hi! I’m Tanu, a Data Science undergrad learning Python. I’m new to open source and here to learn, start small, and grow through real contributions. Excited to be part of the community and learn from everyone

Hi everyone, I’m Nikhil! from India, currently pursuing my Bachelors in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

I am really interested in unsupervised Anomaly Detection for time-series data.

I’m here to translate my skills to Bio-Signal Processing, with a focus on automating artifact detection in EEG data. I am eager to contribute to INCF repositories and would love to connect with anyone working on signal quality control pipelines.

Hi All,

My name is Marie LaCour. I am a PhD Neuroscience Student at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Physiology and Pharmacology. My research explores tauopathy and noradrenergic modulation of multi-node signal processing during olfactory elicited responses. I am working on projects that will use FiPhA, GuPPy, and pyfiber. I look forward to connecting with this community, while navigating the decoding of neural signal processing.

Cheers,

Marie

Hi Mentors and the INCF Community,

I am Ayush Kumar Rai, 4th-year B.E. student specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Sai Vidya Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. I am writing to introduce myself as an aspiring contributor for GSoC 2026.

I have a deep passion for building high-accuracy, adaptive AI systems. My technical foundation includes:

Advanced AI/ML & Deep Learning: Expert proficiency in building end-to-end pipelines using scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and LightGBM, with a focus on model optimization via Optuna and PCA/RFE for high-dimensional data.
Adaptive Systems & Security: I engineered an Adaptive AI-Powered Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) that achieved up to 96.53% accuracy across 18 attack classes, utilizing real-time packet capture with PyShark/ScaPy and a Flask monitoring dashboard.
Neural Networks & Computer Vision: I’ve implemented CNNs for image classification (92% accuracy) and have published research in IEEE conferences on using computational intelligence for real-time security operations.

Why INCF? My work in NIDS and Security Monitoring has prepared me to handle the ā€œBig Dataā€ challenges in Neuroinformatics. Just as a network monitoring system must distinguish ā€œnoiseā€ from ā€œthreats,ā€ I am eager to apply my skills in signal processing, time-series analysis, and anomaly detection to neuroscientific datasets—such as automating region selection in BrainGlobe or improving EEG artifact annotation.

I am particularly interested in projects involving Deep Learning, Neural Networks, and Python-based data analysis tools. I am currently finishing my semester exams on December 31st, but I will be diving into the codebase and project discussions full-time starting January 1st!

I look forward to discussing how my background in adaptive AI can contribute to INCF’s mission of making neuroscience data more interoperable and accessible.

Hi everyone!

I’m Nishant Raghuvanshi, a 4th-year dual degree student in Electronics and Physics at BITS Pilani, Goa Campus. Alongside my coursework, I enjoy building software systems, but over time I’ve realized that what excites me most is the intersection of hardware, AI/ML, and neuroscience.

My interest in neuroscience began with a college course that left me asking more questions than it answered: How do biological systems compute so efficiently, and what are we missing when we try to replicate them in silicon? That curiosity has gradually pulled me toward neuromorphic computing. I’m especially intrigued by the idea that the non-linear physics of memristive devices isn’t a limitation, but an opportunity—one that could enable more realistic models of synaptic plasticity directly in hardware.

At this stage, I’m in an exploratory mindset. I’m eager to learn, experiment, and better understand how principles from neuroscience, machine learning, and device physics can come together to shape the next generation of intelligent systems.
