Is using Susceptibility distortion correction with ICA-AROMA possible in fMRI-prep?

Hello,

I am rather new to fMRI-prep and wanted to ask if it is possible to use Susceptibility distortion correction (via fieldmaps in fMRIprep) while also denoising the data afterwards with the ICA_AROMA option?

Are there any specific considerations that I should take into account during this?

Best,

George

Hi George,

Yes, with one temporary exception that fMRIPrep does not currently work when you only have a reverse phase-encoded fieldmap (e.g. having only a PA fmap to denoise a AP BOLD run). See this issue: https://github.com/nipreps/fmriprep/issues/2667 . Besides that you should be in the clear.

Steven

Hi Steven,

Thanks a lot for your fast reply and for your clarification. Luckily I have both directions on fieldmap :).

Have a great day,

George
