The position focuses on developing state-of-the-art AI algorithms to decode speech and language directly from brain activity , using both non-invasive (EEG) and invasive (sEEG) recordings, at the intersection of neuroscience, neuroimaging, and deep learning .
Role
- Development of advanced deep learning models for neural speech and language decoding
- Learning neural representations from EEG and sEEG data
- Improving robustness and generalization across subjects and modalities
- Close collaboration with PhD students and experimental neuroscientists
Profile
- PhD required in Computational Neuroscience, AI, Computer Science, or related fields
- Strong experience with deep learning (e.g. Transformers, LLMs, generative models)
- Background or strong interest in speech and language processing
- Experience with neural data (EEG, sEEG, MEG, etc.)
- Python + frameworks such as PyTorch / TensorFlow / Keras (MNE a plus)
Environment
- University of Granada (UGR) – top-ranked in Computer Science (1st in Spain)
- CITIC-UGR (AI & data science) + CIMCYC (cognitive neuroscience; María de Maeztu)
- International and interdisciplinary research team
Details
