Summary of what happened:

Hi all,
I’m looking for someone who can help me with a small, paid task. I have a .gz file and need it converted to a Volume.csv file using FreeSurfer. I don’t work with FreeSurfer or Linux myself, so I can’t do this on my own.
The task is small, and I can offer €100 for it. Ideally you would do it on your own computer or laptop, or alternatively guide me through it remotely.

Do you mean a .nii.gz file? If so, that is an image-based file. What would you want the CSV to look like?

It is necessary to decern parts and sizes of the hypothalmus, in a sliced way

Calculate the hypothalamus volumes
Open your Linux or macOS terminal and run the following command for your specific ‘subject’:
bash
mri_segment_hypothalamic_subunits --s <subject_name>
Handle code with care.
(Replace <subject_name> with the name of your subject’s directory).
What does this command do?
• It segments the hypothalamus fully automatically in less than a minute.
• It automatically creates a .csv file containing the volumes (in mm³) of all subregions, listed neatly one after another.

2. Where can you find the .csv file?
FreeSurfer saves the result directly into your subject’s directory. You can find the file at this location:
$SUBJECTS_DIR/<subject_name>/mri/hypothalamic_subunits_volumes.v1.csv
