NeuroDataHub – Explore & Compare 50+ Open Neuroimaging Datasets (Lifespan + Multimodal)

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to share something I’ve been working on:

NeuroDataHub – An open-access platform designed to help you explore, compare, and analyze neuroimaging datasets. This site brings together an extensive collection of 50 free to access and carefully curated public datasets, totaling over 50,000 brain scans.

NeuroDataHub - your gateway to the world’s largest open-access collection of brain imaging datasets*. Whether you’re a neuroscientist, machine learning researcher, clinician, or student, NeuroDataHub makes it easy to find, understand, and use over 50 high-quality neuroimaging datasets spanning 50,000+ brain scans.

From structural MRI (T1-weighted) and functional MRI (fMRI) to diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), positron emission tomography (PET), cognitive tests, behavioral assessments, and fluid biomarkers, NeuroDataHub brings together richly annotated datasets spanning diverse populations, age groups, and scanner types — all accessible through a clean, searchable interface.

In the age of data-driven neuroscience, accessing and comparing neuroimaging datasets across cohorts and scanners remains an uphill challenge. Datasets are scattered, inconsistently formatted, and difficult to navigate for non-experts. This lack of interoperability and discoverability slows down reproducibility, cross-study learning, and progress toward generalizable models of the human brain.

That’s why I created NeuroDataHub: an open-access platform for exploring, comparing, and analyzing neuroimaging datasets at scale. With over 50 curated datasets and growing, NeuroDataHub is designed to bridge the gap between raw neuroimaging data and accessible, actionable insights for both researchers and developers.

Key Features

  1. Diverse Dataset Collection:
The platform includes datasets from multiple geographic regions and clinical populations, encompassing a wide age range (0–100 years).

  2. Rich Metadata and Standardized Views:
Each dataset is accompanied by detailed metadata, including modality types, sample sizes, age ranges, scanner types, and direct links for data download and documentation.

  3. Curated Study References:
To help users understand how each dataset can be utilized, we have identified two highly relevant published studies per dataset.

  4. Clean and Accessible Interface:
The platform is designed to minimize clutter and confusion, providing clear and organized access to data and related literature, thus saving researchers significant time and effort.

At its core, NeuroDataHub is designed to accelerate reproducible neuroscience and transparent machine learning research. No paywalls. No confusing file hierarchies. Just structured, accessible neuroimaging data to support the next generation of discovery.

NeuroDataHub is an open science initiative. Whether you’re a neuroimaging researcher, a machine learning enthusiast, or simply someone passionate about open data — if you’re interested in contributing, building on top of the hub, or collaborating, we’d love to hear from you.
