OHBM International Mentoring and Fellowship Program 2023-2024

Dear all,

Registration is now open for the eighth round of the OHBM Online International Mentoring Program, organized by the OHBM Student and Postdoc Special Interest Group (SP SIG). The program pairs mentees with more experienced mentors in the OHBM community for (online) mentoring during the 2023-2024 academic year.

The goal of the program is to establish mentoring relationships across the world. Our mentors can provide mentees with insight and support in topics including career development, navigating academia, grant writing, and work-life balance.

If you are interested in being a mentor and/or mentee, please fill out this short intake form and you will be contacted with further details. Applications close on Monday 30th October, 2023 (23:59 Pacific Time).

Feel free to distribute this email to your networks. Based on feedback from previous rounds, we have a lot of interest for mentors in industry roles. Hence, we encourage scientists working in industry to apply as mentors for our program.

Continuation of the OHBM SP SIG Fellowship Program

We are also continuing our OHBM Fellowship Program for 2023-2024 after our successful pilot in 2022 - 2023. The aim of this Fellowship program is to provide tailored support to people coming from underrepresented communities based on - but not limited to - age, culture, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, political beliefs, profession, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status in line with the OHBM Code of Conduct. It will include all the benefits of our Mentoring Program, plus additional peer-mentoring sessions, online platform to interact with other Fellows, highlighting of your profile on media platforms and/or blogs, and more. For this second year, the OHBM Fellowship Program will take a select number of Ph.D students contingent on available resources, please use the final question of the regular intake form to apply.
