Password reset returns "Server Error (500)" and I cannot recover my account

Hello, I’m hoping a NeuroVault maintainer can help. I can no longer log in to my account, and password recovery is broken for me.

When I request a password reset at Password reset | Django site admin using the email registered to my account, the page returns Server Error (500). It happens every time and has persisted for several days (still today). Requesting a reset with any other (unregistered) email returns the normal “email sent” page, so the reset flow works in general but throws a 500 specifically for my registered address. Since it’s a server-side 500, I can’t fix it myself.

Details to help identify the account:

  • Username: sysneuro.FMU
  • I own collection 24083 (private) and several older collections (revaluation according to choice set size; PPI, choice_difficulty_insula-VLPFC; PPI, revaluation_caudate-VLPFC; choice difficulty according to choice set size).
  • I’d rather recover this existing account than create a new one. I can share the exact registered email with a maintainer privately.

This looks similar to the SMTP/reset issue in GitHub #670. I need to add statistical maps to collection 24083 for a manuscript that’s being submitted, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello,

The maintainer of NeuroVault @rwblair I out of town right now for a week or two.

He’ll be able to help you once he’s back.

Sorry about the issue!

Thank you, and no problem at all. Since it may be a week or two and I’m on a manuscript deadline that depends on this collection (24083), would it be possible for you or another admin to do an interim manual password reset (or otherwise restore my access) in the meantime? I’m happy to share the exact registered email privately for verification. If it’s easier to just wait for rwblair to return, that’s completely fine too. Thanks again for the quick reply!

Looks like the DKIM records for the domain weren’t setup properly when we started using cloudflare so sending emails failed. I think I’ve fixed the issue, can you attempt to the reset one more time?

Thank you for your patience on this, if it doesn’t work I’ll trigger a reset manually and email you directly.
