Our lab (www.pynel.pitt.edu) is seeking to hire 1-2 Postdoctoral Associates to lead and help with several ongoing TMS/TBS research projects, including two NIMH-funded grants. One of these projects includes a fMRI/TBS/fMRI protocol that will be performed in healthy individuals and patients with bipolar disorders to establish the acute effects of neurostimulation on the neural activity and related behavioral performance of these individuals. Another study involves performing single pulse TMS with simultaneous EEG (TMS/EEG) recordings to investigate the oscillatory properties of dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and their association with performance on a working memory task in early course schizophrenia patients and healthy comparison individuals. Both studies rely on neuronavigational devices to enhance accuracy of TMS targeting. Thus, expertise with several TMS paradigms is a strong preference, experience with EEG and/or TMS/EEG is recommended, and familiarity with neuronavigational techniques and software is advised. Additionally, programming skills and expertise with MATLAB and/or Python is preferred. Experience with analyzing structural and functional MRI are additional preferred skills.
