Postdoc position in the Neuroimaging Lab in ULB, Brussels - Deadline 23/12/2022

Hi folks!
Hope some of you will find what follows interesting. Deadline is December 23 2022.
Take care!
Antonin

The Laboratory of Translational Neuroanatomy and Neuroimaging
("Laboratoire de Neuroanatomie et de Neuroimagerie translationnelles, LN 2 T), ULB-
Neuroscience Institute, Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), is seeking for a talented
postdoctoral researcher.

Applications are invited for postdoctoral position who will work on a research project
aiming at investigating using simultaneous hybrid PET-MR imaging and high-density
EEG the mechanisms involved in the neurovascular coupling in humans. The
successful candidate will provide support to the development of the methods
required for the project (half time; technical development, integration of the MRI-
compatible EEG system within the PET-MR environment, signal processing/analyses
pipelines, support for data acquisition) and will develop his/her own research line
based on common research interests (half time). This position offers a unique
opportunity to develop an expertise in multimodal functional neuroimaging (fMRI,
PET, EEG) and get publications in the field of neurovascular coupling.
The position is opened and funded for 2 years (with possible extension for a third
year depending on common interests). Expected starting date: beginning of 2023.
The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team composed of
physicists, engineers, neuropsychologists and neurologists. The LN 2 T is a
multimodal functional neuroimaging platform comprising a whole-scalp cryogenic
MEG (Triux, MEGIN) facility, an OPM-MEG facility based on 54 alkali OPMs
(QuSpin), a MEG-compatible high-density EEG (Geodesic), a hybrid PET-MRI
system (3T MRI, Signa GE Healthcare), and a MRI-compatible high-density EEG
system (128 electrodes, Brain Products). The laboratory is located at the Erasme
hospital, the academic hospital of the ULB. The hospital is located at the border of
Brussels with easy access by public transports. Brussels is located at the center of
Europe. It is multicultural city that provides a high degree of quality of life with many
cultural and social events.
Candidates must have a master degree (Bologna process) in Physics, Engineering,
Mathematics or appropriately related discipline. A PhD in a relevant discipline is
absolutely required. Theoretical and practical knowledge of fMRI, PET or EEG signal
processing using Matlab or similar software is an asset. Preliminary experience in
the field of PET-MR or EEG-fMRI is desirable but not required.
Salary will be commensurate by seniority and should be around 2500-2600 €/month
(net salary), which allow a comfortable life considering the cost of living in Brussels.
Informal enquiries and application have to be addressed to Xavier De Tiège at
xavier.de.tiege@ulb.be and Antonin Rovai at antonin.rovai@ulb.be
Closing date: 23 December 2022
