Searching for QA Summary for NK-RS processed by RBC Initiative

Hi everyone,

I’m working with the NK-RS dataset that was processed as part of the RBC initiative (Shafiei et al., 2025, https://doi.org/10.1101/2025.02.24.639850). While reviewing the NKI_CPAC repository (cpac_RBCv0/study-NKI_desc-functional_qc.tsv on NKI_CPAC/cpac_RBCv0/study-NKI_desc-functional_qc.tsv at main · ReproBrainChart/NKI_CPAC · GitHub), I noticed that the quality assurance (QA) summary for the NK-RS sample data is available for those preprocessed with the “36-parameter” strategy, but the corresponding QA summary for data preprocessed using the “CompCor” nuisance regression approach appears to be missing.

I’m specifically looking for detailed reports covering resting-state fMRI data acquisition, preprocessing metrics, artifact detection for the “CompCar” strategy. Has anyone else encountered this issue or managed to locate the missing QA summary? Alternatively, if the summary was generated locally during the RBC initiative, I would highly appreciate any advice on how to regenerate or access these metrics please.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I haven’t encountered this issue personally, but here are a few suggestions:

  1. Check local logs: The QA summary might have been generated locally during preprocessing with the CompCor strategy but not committed to the main repository. If you have access to the local data or logs, you could regenerate it from there.

  2. Look in other branches/versions: Sometimes QA outputs are in different branches or tags, so it might be worth checking those.

  3. Generate your own QA metrics: If the summary is missing, you could use tools like fMRIPrep, AFNI, or ICA-AROMA to generate artifact detection and QA metrics.

  4. Contact the authors: The RBC initiative team (Shafiei et al.) might have the missing summary or can guide you on how to regenerate it.

Hi! Thank you for your interest in using the RBC dataset! QA summary information for fMRI data should be available for all RBC studies under their corresponding CPAC repository. Specific files are located under each individual’s CPAC outputs (for both 36Parameter and CompCor) and can be accessed via datalad. For example:

  • cpac_RBCv0/sub-\*/ses-\*/func/sub-\*_ses-\*_task-\*_acq-\*_space-MNI152NLin6ASym_reg-aCompCor_desc-xcp_quality.tsv
  • cpac_RBCv0/sub-\*/ses-\*/func/sub-\*_ses-\*_task-\*_acq-\*_space-MNI152NLin6ASym_reg-36Parameter_desc-xcp_quality.tsv

Please let me know if you have any issues accessing the files. Thank you!
