Seeking Research Assistant Opportunity | NYC/NJ Area
Hello NeuroStars community,
I’m an Associate Trauma Therapist with a strong background in clinical practice, somatic healing, and research coordination, currently preparing to apply for PhD programs in Clinical Psychology with a neuroscience focus.
My research interests include:
- Trauma and the brain (neurobiology of PTSD, dissociation, and resilience)
- Somatic healing and embodied neuroscience
- Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) and altered states of consciousness
- Cultural and epigenetic perspectives on trauma recovery
I am seeking a Research Assistant or Lab Coordinator opportunity in the NYC/NJ area where I can contribute to ongoing projects while deepening my skills in:
- Clinical neuroscience methods (EEG, fMRI, psychophysiology)
- Data collection and analysis (SPSS, R, Python basics)
- Manuscript preparation and dissemination
- Working with trauma-exposed, clinical, or diverse cultural populations
With my clinical experience in trauma-focused therapy and community-based healing, I bring a strong translational perspective: connecting neuroscience with lived experience. I am eager to support ongoing research and collaborate with investigators bridging clinical psychology, neuroscience, and consciousness studies.
Location: Open to NYC/NJ area roles (academic labs, hospitals, or research centers).

Thank you for your time and consideration — I would be grateful for any leads or connections to labs currently recruiting RAs.
Warmly,
Kathy Elisca Clermont, MSW
