I’ve been attempting to skull strip perfusion-weighted imaging (PWI) that has a smaller field of view (FOV) compared to the structural imaging. I’ve used brain imaging software like FSL and HD-BET, but the quality of skull stripping has been unsatisfactory. Does anyone have recommendations for methods to effectively skull strip images with a small FOV?
Thanks for the reply. I also used the SynhStrip. It does good job on some dataset, but not all (excessively strip the images). The bias correction helps to improve the skull stirp, but still it is not perfect.
If you want to try more tools, you can look into :
AFNI 3dSkullStrip
I saw this package but never tried it: GitHub - plmoer/skull_stripping_code_SR
They mentioned other skull stripping tools in their comparison that you may try.
