Dear Neurostars Community,
We are excited to announce that Neurodiagnoses.com is preparing to submit a project proposal for the upcoming Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2025. Our goal is to enhance our platform by integrating multidimensional data to improve diagnostic accuracy for neurodegenerative diseases.
Project Overview:
Neurodiagnoses.com aims to incorporate multi-omics datasets—including genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics—to develop advanced diagnostic tools for conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. This integration will facilitate personalized medicine approaches and provide deeper insights into disease mechanisms.
Call for Collaborators:
We are seeking collaborators with expertise in:
Your contributions can range from mentorship to active development, depending on your availability and interest.
Next Steps:
We will share detailed project ideas and collaboration opportunities in the coming weeks. If you are interested in participating or have suggestions, please respond to this post or contact us directly.
We look forward to collaborating with the Neurostars community to advance neurodiagnostic research and innovation.

Hi Neurodiagnoses.com Team,
My name is Laura! I was really excited to come across your proposal for Neurodiagnoses.com! The idea of using multi-omics datasets to develop better diagnostic tools for conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s is something I find incredibly interesting.
I’ve always been drawn to projects that combine data science with real-world applications, especially in fields like neuroscience. My background includes working with NoSQL databases, and I’m really keen to dive deeper into handling large, complex datasets – which sounds like exactly what you’re doing. Plus, having spent time in neuroscience labs during my studies, I’ve seen firsthand how crucial it is to have well-organized and accessible data.
Looking at your call for collaborators, I think my skills could be a good fit, particularly in:
- Data Science: I’m eager to put my data analysis and manipulation skills to work on your multi-omics datasets and contribute to personalized medicine approaches.
- Software Development: I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and help with the software side, focusing on building efficient tools for data storage, retrieval, and analysis. Even though my main experience is with NoSQL, I’m a fast learner and always up for exploring new technologies. Also, you can see my git usage in my github account.
- Bioinformatics (learning potential): While I’m not a bioinformatics expert yet, I’m really interested in learning more about how omics data is integrated. My solid foundation in data science should give me a good head start.
I’m particularly drawn to the idea of creating tools that make it easier for neuroscience researchers to extract meaningful insights from your integrated datasets. I’m flexible and open to both mentorship and active development, and I’d love to hear more about the specific project ideas you have in mind.
Thanks so much for considering my application. I’m really looking forward to the possibility of collaborating with you on Neurodiagnoses.com!
Cheers,
Laura Way
Hi Laura!
Thanks a ton for your amazing message — your enthusiasm really shines through, and we’re thrilled to see your interest in Neurodiagnoses! The intersection of data science and neuroscience is exactly where we want to make an impact, and your background (especially with NoSQL and handling complex datasets) sounds like a fantastic match for our goals.
We’d love to start collaborating right away with you — especially around structuring and exploring multi-omics datasets to support precision diagnostics. Since we’re not entirely sure if we’ll be submitting to GSoC this year, we’re focusing on building the community and project momentum organically.
Here are a couple of ways to jump in:
- Join the conversation on GitHub Discussions
We’re using this space to shape the roadmap and brainstorm features. Feel free to introduce yourself there — we’d love to hear more about what you’re excited to work on!
- Contribute ideas on EBRAINS
We’ve also shared the project on EBRAINS Community Ideas — if you’re part of that ecosystem or would like to join, we’d be happy to collaborate there too.
Looking forward to building something impactful together — and thanks again for reaching out with such thoughtful energy!
Cheers,
Manuel & the Neurodiagnoses.com Team
