Where to put blood samples?

We are doing a longitudinal study of parkinson patients. As part of the recurring test battery, we will be taking blood samples. Do anyone have any suggestions for where to put that data in the bids dataset? There is one for each ‘session’, but it’s not clear if there’s a preferred modality to sort it under? do we just invent our own?

 @Kaare_Mikkelsen,

As a starting point, I recommend looking at the appendix we’ve prepared for the BEP036 - Phenotypic Data Guidelines pull request, which is currently open for community feedback on GitHub. You can also preview other changes here but I think the appendix has everything you need. The PR introduces guidance on handling longitudinal phenotypic data and the sessions.tsv file, among other things.

We’ve included several examples that cover a range of common use cases. While the examples focus on questionnaires, the same principles apply to blood-derived data imo. If you think your study design represents another use case, we’d love to hear about it!

Hope this helps, and looking forward to your input if you decide to contribute!
