Dear Researcher,
The Basque Center on Cognition, Brain and Language (BCBL) is organizing the 1st Basque AFNI meeting. The event will be held in San Sebastián-Donostia, 10-16 May 2020.
This meeting aims to gather together scientists, researchers and clinicians who would like to learn the basic steps and latest advances in volume- and surface-based analysis of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and diffusion-weighted MRI (dwMRI) data analysis using AFNI and SUMA. This 6-day intensive workshop will comprise plenary lectures on preprocessing and data analysis of fMRI data, including the talks, tutorials and hands-on sessions that are usually part of the popular AFNI Bootcamp, as well as seminars on the basic and advanced principles of fMRI physics and experiment design. Keynote speakers include: Robert Cox (NIH), Gang Chen (NIH), Paul Taylor (NIH) and César Caballero-Gaudes (BCBL).
The meeting also aims to serve as a forum for exchange and sharing of experiences in the analysis of fMRI and dwMRI data, not necessarily using AFNI and SUMA software. Participants are encouraged to submit a brief abstract of their work (not mandatory for registration). A collection of abstracts will be selected for quick presentation in power-pitch format (max. 5 min).
In parallel with the lectures and hands-on sessions, participants will also have the opportunity to work hackathon-style on their own projects in dedicated rooms at the BCBL and to enjoy consultations with the invited speakers and other meeting participants. A dedicated session for individual consultations will also take place on Saturday, 16 May 2020.
