I am running a group (i.e., third) level analysis in FSL’s FEAT. I have 174 cope images and 2 EVs. I would like to run simple unpaired sample t-tests in each tail.
As soon as I populate my design matrix in the stats tab, the GUI freezes and I am unable to initiate the process by pressing “Go”. I suspect this has something to do with the large number of input files I am trying feed into the model.
Does anyone have experience with this and know how to overcome the GUI freeze?
I am running the software on Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish). The installation was performed with Python for all system users. I am accessing the machine via Chrome Remote Desktop from my MacBook (Apple M2 Pro Chip; MacOS Tahoe 26.2).
Hi, I am running into a similar problem, but with within subject analysis with 2 runs and 20 subjects (40 input and 20EVs) fixed effects. Did you find a solution to this yet? I am wondering if I should just use a script instead of the GUI if the GUI is the problem.
I apologize I am not seeing this until now! It turns out this problem was caused by trying to load a large number of subject inputs in the FEAT GUI remotely (in my case using Chrome Remote Desktop). Since the .fsf files are so finicky, I would recommend using the GUI for initial .fsf generation. I was able to circumvent this issue by building the higher level analysis .fsf files locally on my personal laptop through the GUI, and then syncing the resultant .fsf to the server that housed my data and running it there.
