Hi! One of our studies images women in the 30 degree left lateral tilt position-- ie, they are lying on a foam wedge so body and head are aligned with each other, but tilted ~30 degrees relative to the scanner table/horizontal plane rather than fully supine. We try to confirm that the nose and sternum are aligned to minimize twisting of neck blood vessels, and that the head is not flexed or extended more than it would be in a standard supine position.
We recently realized we needed to acquire an additional sequence to account for potential changes in flow velocity in the lateral tilt position for ASL and I was wondering-- Is there something similar to this we should be thinking about for fmri? ie is there a major confound that may impact measuring bold signal at an angle and is there any quick sequence we should be getting to correct for it?
