fMRIPrep MNI space- partial FOV data

Hello!

I am processing my fMRI data using fMRIprep. My fMRI data has a partial field of view. Most of the brain is captured, but the tips of the temporal lobe and the cerebellum are not included. The registration looks great, and the MNI transformation looks good.

However, above and below the fMRI volume, the data seems to be interpolated across the rest of the MNI volume. It looks like a “smearing.”

This shouldn’t effect my analysis, and I know I can use a brain mask to partially correct for this effect. I am wondering, though, is there a flag I can change in fMRIprep to keep this from happening?

Thank you,
Beverly
