Hi all,

My name is Miguel Angel Rubio and I am a neurologist specialized in neuromuscular disorders and with special interest in motor neuron diseases like ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). Although my main focus is in the hospital I also work in a research lab with animal models of ALS.
My knowledge could not be more far of computational neuroscience but I am always interested in neurology, neuroscience and I strongly believe that this 3-week course could expand my skills and, hopefully, be helpful in some way to the neuroscience community.

Hello everyone,

My name is Hayden Johnson and I am an undergraduate studying cs and neuroscience at the University of Minnesota. Over the quarantine, I have been studying reinforcement learning, Bayesian processes in the brain, and mental representation. This course will be my first exposure to a lot of the topics in computational neuroscience.

Besides cs and neuroscience, I like movies, literature, philosophy, and playing guitar. I also recently co-founded an organization to help teach underprivileged kids in my area learn computer science skills.

I would love to build some connections here. If anyone else is fairly new to computational neuroscience and looking to build a network of peers, please reach out! My experience is that new fields are a lot less scary when you have others to work with. And if anyone with more experience has some advice to a lowly undergrad, I would love to hear it :slightly_smiling_face:

Feel free to message me on here or my (super inactive) twitter

Hello everyone!
My name is Ayuno (pronounced Ah-you-know) Nakahashi. I am a 5th year Ph. D. student at lā€™UniversitĆ© de MontrĆ©al in Canada. I am currently studying value-based multi-attribute decision-making in monkeys using electrophysiology. I am fascinated by Theory of Mind, and I am a believer of Perceptual Control Theory.

Outside the lab, I enjoy beers, cidres, bodyweight workouts, and street dance (4 years in KRUMP, recently started learning popping and whaacking). Oh, and I have been teaching myself Python, so that I can graduate from MATLAB some time in future :sunglasses:

I am thrilled to join NMA through the Observer track. Letā€™s have a ton of trials and errors together!

ps, Yes, I am Japanese

Hi all, this is Hikaru (or call me Hiki).

Iā€™m a postdoc specialised in Cognitive Neuroscientist, based at Cardiff University, UK. Specifically, my research focuses on, testing effects of sleep on face recognition memory, by using fMRI, sleep EEG, and behavioural measures.

Iā€™m a newbie to Computational Neuroscience, so it would be great if you can share your knowledge and help me to learn this new topic!

Nice to see you all!

Hi Stars!

My name is Bronson Harry and I am a CogNeuro/Data Scientist living in Sydney, Australia. I was most recently a post doc at the MARCS Institute at Western Sydney University where I was looking into the neuro-cognitive networks associated with sensorimotor synchronisation with fMRI. Prior to this I was a post doc at Bangor Uni examining face and body networks in ventral temporal lobes. Iā€™m super interested in network science, functional connectivity, and social perception/action.

My main goals are better my understanding of deep nets and graph analysis.

Hello everyone!
Iā€™m a third year Molecular Biology and Genetics student interested in Computational Neuroscience. Iā€™ve been reading on my own and developing my Python, MATLAB skills for the last year. My plan was to do my internship in the field but it was cancelled due to Covid-19. Iā€™m now planning to work in Brain Research Center in my school for the next semester and currently preparing for it.
Iā€™m pretty interested in this course since I can speak to/learn from experienced people like you and instructors. I am open to your advices and I will certainly ask Qs to you.
Also I like to discuss neuroscience and other scientific subjects, and it would be pretty good if I could find some enthusiastic people to speak to
Looking forward to learning about brain and discuss with you,
Cheers
