Iām Minh-Huy, an undergrad student major in AI/ML in Vietnam. Iāve some experiences exploring the world of Genetic Algorithms, LLMs and CV. I decided to pursue Computational Neuroscience as a supplement for my research in NeuroAI (for now itās Genomic Bottleneck and RL with Spiking Nets).
Iām most familiar with PyTorch and Kaggle when it came to training model, but Iām a fast learner so Iāll feel comfortable using any tool after a few tutorials.
As I progress into research, Iām always actively looking for collaborations and fellow students/ mentors to connect with, so please donāt hesitate to contact me through LinkedIn or GitHub.
Iāve also done an analysis on NeuroAI topics in this forum (crawled all the introductions and did an analysis with the help of PerplexityAI), you can see the detailed analysis here (up-to-date 21/06/2025).
Itās my pleasure to discover this forum which dedicated to Neuroscience and hope Iāll learn/ contribute a lot to the community.
Hey guys, Iām Kevin a PhD candidate at Harvard wrapping up my dissertation on neural models of consciousness and dynamical systems in cortical computation. Iām currently conducting a comparative synthesis of two particularly challenging yet foundational texts: Thomas Metzingerās Being No One and Eugene Izhikevichās Dynamical Systems in Neuroscience: The Geometry of Excitability and Bursting.
Iām curious-has anyone here engaged deeply with either (or both) of these works?
Iām especially interested in dialoguing about:
⢠Metzingerās Self-Model Theory (SMT) and how it might inform or contrast with low-dimensional attractor dynamics in neuronal systems
⢠Practical approaches to internalizing Izhikevichās phase-plane methodology for modeling bursting behavior and excitability classes
⢠Philosophical implications of dynamical modeling in the context of consciousness studies
If youāve worked with these frameworks-academically or computationally-Iād love to exchange insights. Iām currently mapping their conceptual intersections for a publication, and any input from those whoāve wrestled with either text would be invaluable. Looking forward to connecting with other minds navigating this terrain.
Iām Manas Lokhande, a B.Tech undergraduate at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
Iām deeply passionate about Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with a strong focus on Computer Vision. Over the past few months, Iāve worked on several vision-related projects involving image segmentation, object detection, and model training using architectures like U-Net and YOLO.
Iāve also had the opportunity to study both Biology and Mathematics during my junior college, which sparked my interest in the intersection of neuroscience and machine learning. Iām especially fascinated by how computational models can help us understand the brain and vice versa, how neuroscience can inspire more efficient AI systems.
Iām excited to learn more, collaborate with the community, and actively contribute to the foundation. Looking forward to connecting with you all!
