LIs with too few voxels

We use Wilke and Lidzba’s 2007 LI-tool to calculate laterality indices (LIs).
The bootstrapping method (-5) fails when there are too few voxels in a hemisphere.

We have some strongly lateralized participants with plausible activation maps, but extremely few suprathreshold voxels in the expected hemisphere.
This means that instead of getting high LIs for these participants, we get missing values, which isn’t helpful.

We have a few ideas (but want to stick with the bootstrapping method), but I thought I’d see if the community had any suggestions or ways they’ve handled this with this specific tool before.
