Simultaneous v.s. separate fMRI-EEG in resting-state

After a google search on fMRI and EEG, I found quite a few papers on simultaneous fMRI-EEG. However, if it’s resting-state, wouldn’t it be better to just use separate fMRI and EEG recordings, considering those artifacts brought by simultaneous recordings?

… This depends on the research question !
But sure, if you’re not particularly interested in fMRI-EEG coupling, it’s better to avoid the burden and artifacts of simultaneous acquisitions.
