Hello Friends,
I’m new to the community and I’m not sure If I’m doing this the correct way, nonetheless, I’ve been working with fMRI data, I’ve preprocessed the data, plus I’ve computed the time series for each data I have, a table of 235*400 (I’ve used the Schaefer 400, 17 networks atlas) is what I’ve got from each participant’s data.
For the purpose of my research, I need to assign a value to each ROI ( I have 400 of them) and that value should be the representative of that ROIs activity to be meaningful, assuming that each ROI has time series across the 235 time TR, I took the mean of the signal values for each of the 400 ROIs I have, so now I have one mean value across time (235) for each 400 ROI. This is study is not meant to calculate the functional connectivity from time series which is done most of the rs-fMRI studies, so I need a single valid (like myself ) value for each ROI to represent its activity.
Question!: Is this a valid method in order to have a single value for each ROI or not, and also, is the mean value I explained I’ve calculated for each ROI a meaningful and neuroscientifically interpretable value or not. if the answer if no, what would you suggest me to do.
Best of Regards,
Saeed.
