Thank you for your interest in Google Summer of Code!
Google has announced GSoC 2025, and INCF will apply to be a mentor organization. If you are interested in proposing a project, please see the INCF Blog post for GSoC 2025 for more information. The timeline for this year is quite short for the application process this year. Please use the tag GSoC2025 for all neurostars communications related to GSoC 2025.
I’m Ravish, a first-year student at Polaris School of Technology. I’m excited to contribute to the organization and learn a lot through this journey. Could you please update me on the types of projects planned for 2025? I’m eager to contribute and would appreciate any guidance you can provide.
Google has not announced the 2025 program yet. We expect to hear something from Google in January 2025. We will make a public announcement on Neurostars about the program then.
Hi, Namaskar from Bharat!
My name is Mohit Mahur. I am a student at IIT Madras, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science and Programming.
I have explored many organizations in GSoC, and I found that INCF has some great projects. I am very interested in contributing. While GSoC 2025 is still some time away, I would like to learn about past projects related to Data Science and Machine Learning to explore and gain insights.
It would be very helpful if you could guide me and provide some resources.

Hello, this is Shubham Shekhawat from India…
My name is Shubham Shekhawat, and I am a Computer Science and Engineering student at Chandigarh University. I have been researching various organizations for GSoC 2025, and the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF) has particularly caught my interest. Currently, I am delving into INCF’s past projects to understand their technical stacks and explore how I can contribute effectively.
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Ansh Gupta, and I am currently a student at AKGEC, Ghaziabad. I am eager to begin contributing to open-source projects. As I am relatively new to INCF open source, I am looking for beginner-friendly repositories where I can start contributing and know more about the technical stack.
I am Adnaan, a third-year Computer Science Engineering (CSE) student from VNRVJIET, Hyderabad. I am passionate about contributing to open-source projects and collaborating with like-minded individuals.
I have experience working with the MERN stack and am proficient in Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. My open-source journey includes being selected for the Girl Script Summer of Code and successfully merging 4+ pull requests during Hacktoberfest.
I’m excited to learn, grow, and contribute more to impactful projects.
Could someone guide me on how to start contributing to the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF)?
Looking forward to your responses and engaging with this community!

Sir @Mathew_Abrams is it necessary to propose a project? Like cant we contribute to last year projects and ask the mentors to propose that particular project for GSoC 2025?
Hi @Mathew_Abrams I am new to INCF and I want to suggest a project idea and looking for potential mentors.Could you please let me know how can i find a mentor who is willing to look at my project idea and help me out.
My name is Rabbiya , and I am a third-year Computer Science student. I am a beginner exploring open-source contributions with INCF, and I am excited about the opportunity to participate in Google Summer of Code 2025 and contribute to the impactful work being done by your organization.
I wanted to ask for clarification regarding project ideas for GSoC 2025. Will INCF mentors provide a list of predefined project ideas for contributors to choose from, or is it possible for contributors to propose their own ideas for projects?
If contributors can propose ideas, I would appreciate any guidance on aligning such proposals with INCF’s goals and standards.
Thank you for your time and for the opportunity to engage with INCF’s work. @Mathew_Abrams I look forward to your response.
