Hello Everyone!

This is Anindita Basu from pod-191-russet-leech. I graduated in Medical Sciences and switched to basic research thereafter. Currently, I am doing a short-term research fellowship at NCBS-TIFR, India. Like many of you, I’m interested in the intersection of Computational Neuroscience and Machine Learning, and I would like to pursue an academic career here.

Few specific areas of my interest are Predictive Processing Model of Perception, Decision Theory, Nonlinear Modelling of Neural Oscillations. This fall, I’m applying to PhD programs in Computational Neuroscience. So, I am seeking potential advisors and suitable research matches, and I’d be glad to talk to professors and grad students about their labs and research experiences in detail.

It’s great to see the high enthusiasm in this forum. Looking forward to share the next few weeks together.

All the very best to all of you! :herb:

Hello everyone,

I am Arabinda Saha , Undergraduate 2nd year student from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandir, Belur Math, India.Brain machine interaction and memory decoding attract me very much.In Neuromatch Academy i think i will get better chance of learning more and can do hands-on project. In guidance of respected Sir i can perform better interaction about my dream topic — Neuron and Synapse. I am very much excited to learn from you all.

Thank you.

Hi all,

I am Parisa Daj, graduated from Amirkabir Univesrity studied Electrical Engineering, minor in Control. I have researched in the Institute for Brain and Cognitive Science at Shahid Beheshti University.

Now I am looking for ways to combine cognitive science with gamification methods for the applications in educational technology. I will be very glad if I find an opportunity to continue my graduate studies following the said research areas.

Hope to enjoy the summer school. Wish you all luck.

Hi everyone!

I am Jasper Albers (he/him) and live in Aachen, Germany. I am a theoretical physicist turned computational neuroscientist and currently am a PhD student in the research center in Jülich, Germany. I am still quite new in the field and am excited about starting this summer school!
I am interested in the bottom-up modeling of biological networks, focusing on the functional aspects in e.g. vision-related brain areas, and more generally in the computational principles of the brain.

I am looking forward to meeting some of you and enjoying our shared time!

Hi,
I’m Damien, Post-doc at NeuroPSI at the CNRS (south of Paris, France).
I work with computational modeling and theoretical question from single neuron to networks, and then make the link with pathological dynamics such as seizures or spreading depression.
I also work on quantitative experimental neuroscience, with measurement and imaging of neural tissue from X-ray methods.

Best,

Damien

Hihi!

My name is Drago and I’m a postdoc at the MPI of neurobiology in Munich, Germany. I’m currently working on prey capture behavior in mice, though I did my PhD in zebrafish color vision. I love all things systems neuro and building setups, hence most of my experience is split between data analysis of neural population responses in MATLAB and Python (especially dimensionality reduction), and rig building, focused on microscopes and behavioral rigs.

Looking forward to learning like crazy and having a great time with y’all!

My name is Vanessa, I am an undergraduate researcher in the Niell Neurobiology lab at the University of Oregon. I work on enrichment prey capture in mice. I primarily work with python, but would love to get more familiar with it.

Looking forward to learning with you all!

Hello everyone!

I’m Luke, a current MSc Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience student in Sheffield, UK. I’ll be starting a PhD looking at tactile feedback in October. Coming from a psychology background, I’m loving learning more and more about computational neuroscience and it’s uses and how it’s transforming neuroscience, especially in the current climate.

I can’t wait to get going on this academy!

Hey everyone!

I’m Szonja Weigl, and I’m a data science - neuroscience enthusiast working at the Neuroscience Research Centre (CRNL) in Lyon :fr:. I’m interested in the cognitive processes behind learning :brain:.
I have a background in info-bionics engineering, which is somewhere between computer science and neuroscience. Thus, I’m very much interested in neural time series data analysis (e.g. EEG) and I’m passionate about learning new methods to analyze and interpret data. I’m very new to statistical analyses though, so I hope I can get some inspiration for my analyses from this summer school. My second hope is to get to know more people in this field, and discuss interests/hopes/fears :slightly_smiling_face:

I just skimmed through some of the introductions; very excited to read about you guys!
See you around, cheers!

Hey all! My name is Andrei and I’m a DPhil (PhD) candidate from the University of Oxford. My background is in aerospace engineering (MEng) but I decided to switch focus to AI and Data Science. My work is currently in neuroimaging and the applications of AI for connectome mapping. My main interest in in the various forms of AI (supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement), which I also study in my spare time. I am curious to learn more about image-to-image and domain-to-domain translation, as well as some of the fundamentals of neuro science and neuro imaging.

Hi all, happy to be here :vulcan_salute:

My name is Noémi Éltető. Currently, I’m a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen, Germany and I’m about to start my PhD in comp neurosci here. In my PhD project, I will work on modeling probabilistic sequence learning and think about how it enables agents to extract information, plan actions and generalize knowledge about their environments (in a reinforcement learning framework). Since my background is in psychology and cognitive science, I hope I will pick up loads of neuroscience and modeling knowledge in these three weeks. I am happy to do that with you all
