Introduce yourself!

Hi everyone!

I’m Moritz, a PhD student in the Hausser lab at University College London. I’m using an all-optical approach combining two-photon imaging with targeted two-photon optogenetics to study memory in the hippocampus.

Looking forward to meeting some of you and excited to learn how to make sense of my data!

Hello everyone, I’m from China, and I’m a new to neuroscience, so I want to study from you. My hobbies are music and sports and reading.
I have a question, do we only talk about the topic or another learning way? If so, how do we go for it? Thank you.

Hi!

I’m studying computational neuroengineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University. I’m looking forward to the course; I just hope I can find enough time to engage meaningfully with everything else going on!

Hello! I am Ana Paula, a Brazilian Master Student on Neuroscience. Currently my lab investigates stuttering behavior, and I am particularly interested in how emotions affects human performance. I already have some experience with performance in soccer games, but am learning EEG techniques and more NeuroComp methods. I am very happy with this experience!

Hi guys, I am Ana, a postdoc in the Kohl Lab at University of Glasgow. I am really interested at how memory works, specially how the brain represents and stores memories. I am more of an experimentalist but going into a lot of data analysis with some 2p experiments. Very happy to be a part of NMA in some way. I’m on twitter: @anabottura.

Hi guys,
I’m Swarnendu Moitra (he/him)( pod-125-passionate-eel), M. Phil. student in Linguistics at Jadavpur University (Kolkata, India :india: ). I hold a Masters’s degree in Linguistics, and my Bachelor’s degree was in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

My research lies at the intersection of Linguistics, Psychology, and Neuroscience. I’m interested to know the neural underpinnings of meaning and to that end apply various paradigms to conduct psycho-neurolinguistic experiments. My current research involves understanding the Cognitive mechanisms involved in disambiguation/ ambiguity resolution in Human beings.

I like hiking and stargazing. I binge on street food and play the Indian classical Bamboo flute called Bansuri.
Feel free to connect with me. My twitter handle @SwarMoi
Looking forward to meeting and learning from you all!

Cheers, :vulcan_salute:

Hey all, I’m Kelly McCarthy!

I have been a lab manager at the University of Maryland for 3+ years and transitioning to graduate student in the Neuroscience and Cognitive Sciences program this fall. I study human cognition and emotion using fMRI techniques and am considered the plotting master of the lab (:stuck_out_tongue:). My main research interests lie in how the cerebellum interacts with subcortical regions during emotional events and anticipation of emotional events.

When I’m not working, I enjoy running my own experiments in the kitchen and chilling out with some yoga.

I am very excited to formalize my learning via Neuromatch in preparation for the fall!

Cheers to all!

Hi! I am Maria Elisa Serrano, postdoc in the Department of Neuroimaging at King’s College London. My research interest is to understand the molecular and structural brain changes produced by a neurodegenerative disease. Therefore, I have to use different techniques (behavioural tests, EEG, (f)MRI, PET) to explore and characterise animal models with different diseases.

I hope this workshop will help me understand and use some of the new neuroscience tools for answering my scientific questions!

Looking forward learning and contributing to the community…

Hello!
My name is Robyn and I am a bachelor student at Stephen F. Austin State University! My school does not offer degrees in neuroscience and has not offered courses in data analytics programming until this year, so I am mostly self-taught and have been lucky enough to have a professor that was willing to learn with me and get funding for us to work!
I hope to learn so much from this academy and from all of you!

Hi everyone,

My name is Cherish Ardinger. I am excited to be an interactive-track student at NMA. I am a rising third year PhD student in the Addiction Neuroscience graduate program at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. I am currently studying rodent models of binge drinking to better understand how repeated alcohol consumption alters corticostriatal synchrony over time.

I am really looking forward to meeting you all and learning with you.

Happy first day of Neuromatch!
